Miels de Joyeuse chestnut honey
This honey is carefully harvested by bees from the majestic flowers of the chestnut tree, emblem of the temperate regions in the heart of the Monts d'Ardèche Natural Park.
It is distinguished by its deep color ranging from amber to dark brown, testifying to its richness in flavours and reminiscent of the colour of chestnuts. Its intense and characteristic taste offers distinct notes of chestnuts.
We often find woody notes, sometimes slightly bitter, which recall the characteristic aromas of the chestnut itself. Some even describe a slight touch of licorice or caramel.
In Ardèche, the flowering of chestnut trees is a magical moment which generally occurs from the month of June. The chestnut groves are adorned with dazzling beauty while the trees are covered with clusters of white flowers. This event is not only a delight for the eyes, but also crucial for the bees and the production of honey.
